3 Decks To Keep You Above 2900

Clash Royale is one of the most popular mobile games on the market, from the developers of Clash of Clans. It’s extremely addicting, but frustrating at the same time. In this guide we’ll go over some helpful tips to win at Clash Royale, and share some high win-rate decks that will help players beyond 2900 trophies or almost to Legendary Arena.

Royal Giant and Hog

In the current meta, Royal Giant and Hog are very prevalent in high Royal Arena. What happens when you combine both? You get a powerful deck with many offensive choices, keeping your enemy defending, not being able to push. The reason why this deck works so well, is because many players only pack 1 universal counter to both troops.

Example: Player 1 packs Barbarians in order to counter Royal Giant and Hog, as Barbarians are very good counters to those troops.

Read: Decks to Reach Arena 6 in Clash Royale

With Royal Giant + Hog Decks, you can bait out there single counter with Hog, then push with Royal Giant, knowing that they won't have a great counter against it. This can be reversed, instead of using Royal Giant as offensive power, you can utilize the Royal Giant's range to take out defences that the Hog will have a bad time dealing with it. Even if they have 2 counters, this deck still works against them.

Hog Royal Giant Deck

2. Hog / Mini Pekka Cycle

This deck right now is being used by nearly every player in Royal Arena. The fact that it is showcased by many Youtubers, and how the deck can revolve back to the Hog / Mini Pekka and still have enough elixir to defend makes this deck popular. Even if the opponent counters a hog push, the player has already cycled back to begin another push. They slowly chip away at the tower, getting hits off every now and then.

With these decks, you are able to cycle quicker then your opponent (unless they are doing hog cycle as well) and allow mini pushes to go off. These decks also have the hard counters to the current meta, counters including Barbarians, Mini Pekka and Inferno.

Giant Balloon

This deck has been slowly rising in popularity, as it uses one of the best 10 elixir combos in the game. The fact that this deck outputs a lot of damage makes this deck deadly if you don't have a hard counter to the balloon. This deck is for players who are not interested in the Meta, and want to try something different.

Wish you best of luck, see you in above 2900 soon. Peace

Clash Royale May Update: 6 Details for Players

Since the global release date in March the hit new game Clash Royale has received a few small updates to fix bugs, improve gameplay and balance things out, but a bigger one arrived on May 3rd. The biggest Clash Royale update in history is here, and here we’ll explain everything gamers need to know. From six new troops, double the rewards, to earning gold for every battle won and more.
Over the past few months Clash Royale has become one of the most popular games for Android and iOS. Taking many of the troops everyone loved in Clash of Clans, and adding them to an all-new real time action strategy game, and it’s about to get even better. In recent weeks Supercell has been teasing many major changes, but now we have key details for players.

The link above goes into fine detail about all of the small changes coming in the Clash Royale update. From double the rewards in Crown Chests, tons of game-balancing tweaks, card nerfs to make certain things less or more powerful, and much more. However, this weekend Supercell revealed some other extremely exciting details that should make this game better than ever and less frustrating. Read on for all the details.

We already knew that the May Clash Royale update was going to be a big deal, but no one expected it to be nearly as big as we now know it is. We knew donations were getting tripled, crown chests will have double the gold and rewards, and Epic cards are going to be a lot cheaper, and cheaper to upgrade, but that’s only the beginning.
This update is aimed at making gameplay fair by getting rid of cheaters, adding live spectating to friendly battles, but it will also deliver slower deployment of the Mortar, shorter lifespan for the Bomb Tower or Canon, weaker Elixir pumps, and other changes to even out the game. Meaning it won’t be so darn frustrating when you lose 5-8 battles in a row, because that shouldn’t happen as often after all these huge changes.
While the information above is extremely important to overall balance to the game, make it fun or more fair, and other things, it’s the information below that was just unveiled in the Clash Royale update that should have everyone excited. Below are six (or more) things every player needs to know about this game-changing update.

Spectate & Replays

Supercell has added a few additional aspects to Clash Royale in the May update to help clans watch friendly battles, players learn from watching others, and to improve tournaments. Friendly battles will now have a live-spectating option so we can watch our clan-mates battle in real-time, and even throw confetti on the side of the map for who you’d like to win. Or, to distract the other players.

Live spectating should help us watch how good players use elixir and deploy troops, their mindset, and just be better overall.
TV Royale will also show replays from any arena, rather than only the top. Watching the best players in the world fight with cards we don’t own doesn’t do us any good. So after the update we’ll be able to catch replays from any arena. This is a welcomed change.

More Rewards and Gold for Every Battle

We knew Supercell was working hard to increase the speed in which players could upgrade, earn cards or gold, and enjoy the game. Right now it’s extremely slow and starting to lose some of its allure. However, after the May Clash Royale update everyone will have more opportunity, and more gold for upgrades. We knew about some of these, but here’s the full list of gold and reward changes.
  • Gold: Receive Gold for each win, even when your chest slots are full
  • Crown Chest: Contains twice as much!
  • Super Magical Chest: Chance to drop doubled!
  • Giant and Magical Chests: Chance to drop increased!
  • Donations/Requests: Increases as you reach higher Arenas
  • Card Shop: Legendary Cards can appear once you’ve reached the Legendary Arena
Players will receive gold for each battle won, even when chest slots are full. This gives us more incentive to play, as gold is extremely important for upgrades. I have about 23 upgrades I can do right now, but absolutely no gold to upgrade them. This should help that problem across the board for all Clash Royale gamers. The higher the arena, the more gold you’ll win for each battle. Up to 20 gold per game.

Crown Chests have double the rewards (once you get 10 towers in battles) and the Super Magical Chest will appear twice as often. Yes please, that’s where I got my Three Musketeers card. This is all very good news for those like myself getting stagnant in Clash Royale. There is bad news though. Regular chests now have less gold and less cards, but the developer claims the gold reward for each battle will still be more than enough to make a big impact on gameplay. We hope that’s true.

Six New Troops (Cards)

Perhaps the biggest news of all, is the May Clash Royale update is delivering six new cards for us to enjoy. Three were unveiled yesterday, and late last night the other three were shown off, and they’re amazing.

  • Fire Spirits: These three Fire Spirits are on a kamikaze mission to give you a warm hug. It’d be adorable if they weren’t on fire.
  • Furnace: The Furnace spawns two Fire Spirits at a time. It also makes great brick-oven pancakes.
  • Guards: Three ruthless bone brothers with shields. Knock off their shields and all that’s left are three ruthless bone brothers.
The Fire Spirits appear to be a small, cheap (like 2-3 Elixir) card similar to the skeletons or minions that will do heavy damage to attackers. Perfect for defense or distracting an incoming Prince or Giant. Then the Furnace delivers two Fire Spirits at a time, which is one less than the other card, for those who enjoy using spawner decks.
Our third new troop are called “Guards” and are aimed specifically at defense to take on the popular new trend of using double Prince cards. It is three little bone-brothers similar to skeletons wielding shields to stop the galloping Prince or Archer arrows. The first damage takes down the shields, then we still have to take down all three little guards to proceed.

Three Legendary Cards

Three additional cards were hiding in the teaser above, and they’re all legendary cards. The Miner looks to be my favorite, which can be deployed on the enemy side of the river, but Sparky is the hardest new troop to deal with, as shown in the video above.

New Legendary Cards: Lava Hound, Miner, Sparky
The Lava Hound works just like in Clash of Clans, and is like a Golem for the air. When it dies 4-5 more spawn that are smaller. Sparky is like a Tank with a Tesla tower on the front, which shoots waves of electrocution to buildings and deals heavy heavy damage.
Supercell has stated time and time again they’re more interested in offense, to keep the game exciting, rather than nothing but defense. That’s exactly what these new cards are doing. Shaking things up and adding some serious new ways to enjoy the game. Try them today, or check out the revamped store with cheaper upgrades and more cards to buy.

Other Changes

Of course there is a lot more to the Clash Royale May update than what we’ve detailed here. The link at the top of the game goes over all the small changes, and there are a lot of them.
It’s also worth mentioning that the game will have a lot of visual changes after this update as well. Small little graphical improvements for refinement and polish. The freeze spell has little pieces of ice and snow on the ground, balloons look different and more. Here’s a list of what’s new that I’ve noticed so far, but surely I’m missing a few.
  • Freeze Spell Has New Look
  • Rage Spell Has New Look
  • Zap Has New Look
  • Balloon Has New Look
  • Golem Has New Look
  • New Clan Emblems And Flags
  • You Can Throw Confetti In Friendly Battles
  • The Card Shop Has A New Look
  • You Can Buy 3 Legendaries Costing 40k, 80k And 120k
  • You Can Buy All 56 Cards At Once With One Button
That’s it for now. The update is live on each app store and ready for download. Get ready to adjust strategy to work with six new troops, earn extra gold for upgrades and much more.

Clash Royale: Decks to Reach Arena 6 and Beyond

Clash Royale is one of the most popular mobile games on the market, from the developers of Clash of Clans. It’s extremely addicting, but frustrating at the same time. In this guide we’ll go over some helpful tips to win at Clash Royale, and share some high win-rate decks that will help players reach Arena 6 and beyond.
In March Supercell released Clash Royale, and it immediately jumped to the top of the download charts. It’s a fun and addicting game, but also can be very difficult to master, not to mention a lot of players spend real money. Those free to play gamers looking for an advantage will want to read on for some tips to build the ultimate deck.

The guide below will share a few decks that have helped myself and others reach Arena 6 or even 7, progress to 1800-1900 trophies, and even how to counter other popular decks with our own. Clash Royale is all about timing, skill, countering an attack, and keeping track of Elixir so users have enough money to battle until they win. Lets get started.

As you all know, Clash Royale has a lot of different troops, characters, spells and more that can be mixed and matched for the perfect deck to fight enemies in battle. However, the biggest thing we explained in our beginners guide above is managing Elixir, and the “average elixir cost” of each deck. This is important, to have a well-balanced deck.
First off we’ll show two similar yet very different balanced decks that can attack and defend against most opponents, how to counter them, and ways to win when the clock gets to 1:00 and Elixir speeds are doubled. Here’s my deck, and another popular option courtesy of ClashRoyaleArena.

Instructions

With both decks above start with Spear Goblins or the Bomb Tower/Canon at the beginning of the battle when the elixir bar gets around 10. I go first so the enemy has to counter, and they usually drop a big card first or use arrows. Then play to your advantage with elixir cost, troops for defense, and a strong attack. Drop the Canon or Tower in the middle to reroute attackers and for defense.
The deck on the left is a “bigger risk better reward” layout, while the one on the right is a slower deck that will take time and patience to win. Both are extremely capable and let me push to Arena 7.
As you can see both Clash Royale decks have some strong troops, splash damage units (hurts multiple targets at once), a good defensive card, and some cheap low elixir cards for quick access while in battle. Having some low cards and an average elixir cost around 3.8-4.1 is important. Otherwise you’ll be waiting for cards, or have too many weak troops.

Matchups & Counter Play

Next up we’ll be explaining how to use these decks to take out enemies and secure a win. We’ll be covering some of the most popular cards or decks used in mid-level Arena 4-6 gameplay, and how to beat them.

Prince/Hog with Freeze/Rage Spells
Drop the Bomb Tower or Canon first, which will distract and kill Hogs or the Prince coming in to attack. This is very important to winning each battle. Drop the card in the middle to defend both sides, or in front of a tower that’s taking heavy damage. Quickly counter with Spear Goblins, Bomber, or a Knight on the other side to help take the enemy down faster. Canon and a Spear Goblin is only 5 Elixir to their 8-9, and now we have an advantage. Drop the Goblins after they use a freeze spell, so it doesn’t get them too.
With the deck on the left players can counter with the Hog Rider and a freeze spell of their own, or use the Wizard and some Minions for some quick Tower damage.

Hut Players
A very common attack strategy is using 2-3 Huts that continuously deploy troops. Both of these cards are extremely strong against this. The Bomb Tower does splash damage and kills all three Goblins, or even four Barbarians with ease. Use Minions for backup. The deck on the right has a Lightning spell. Wait until the enemy drops two Huts, and zap them both with the Lightning.
Keep hitting Huts with Lightning and slowly take down towers, or defend with the Bomb Tower and attack from the other side with strong troops for a quick win.

Giant, PEKKA, Giant Skeleton
Another popular attack is dropping huge tanking troops like the Giant, a Pekka, or Skeleton, often followed by the Witch or long-range troops like Archers or Musketeer. The same rules apply. Canon in middle to reroute them and do damage (drop Goblins or Minions on the opposite side) or a Bomb Tower to do massive damage.
Another option is to drop Barbarians or Minions right on top of tanking units, which will quickly die in a matter of seconds. If the enemy is bringing a heavy attack or using an Elixir pump, I’ll use my freeze spell to let the Bomb Tower deal severe damage. Or even the bomber with the tower to really wipe out anything big.
This approach is very elixir heavy for the attacker, and light for us to defend. Now counter with Hogs or even Goblins for some quick damage. Three Spear Goblins left alone can deal a quick 300+ damage to a tower, and cause the enemy to panic. Rinse and repeat for the easy victory.

Balloon or Giant Skeleton and Freeze
I see a lot of attackers using Balloons with a freeze, and I did too for a while, until I learned it was very easy to counter and was getting stuck in Arena 4. Make sure the Canon or Tower is in the middle to distract the Balloons or Giant Skeleton, and do what we’ve been preaching above.
Drop Spear Golbins, Wizard, or the Bomber to quickly take out these big units, but watch out or wait for that freeze spell. Even if you drop cards too early, there’s another 2-3 elixir card ready to be deployed for a fast recovery. The Minion Hoard is crucial here too, for taking out the Balloon which can take out a tower by itself in a matter of seconds.
Often times the enemy will use nearly all 8-10 Elixir with a Balloon and Freeze, for nothing. Then we have the advantage for a fast attack. Often getting a tower within the first 45 seconds, or after doing the same steps above on their second wave, which they often try again thinking they’ll get different results.

Arena 7 and Beyond

In May a huge Clash Royale update arrived that changed everything along with introducing six new troops or cards to the game. The Miner and Sparky are both game-changers, and the Furnace is a nice addition as well.
This update changed a lot of other troops too. Bombs and Canons are weaker and don’t last as long, and it also made the Royal Giant stronger and gave him a further shooting range. Making the Royal Giant the wrecking ball everyone expected, but he wasn’t. Now, with these latest changes the Royal Giant is an extremely deadly troop to use in combination with Barbarians leading the charge to take damage, or Minions to protect him from air attacks. Using the decks above reach Arena 7, unlock the Royal Giant, and use him to win in Arena 7 and push to Arena 8. With the deck below I managed to shoot past all my enemies, and push to 2,200 trophies. This means I now play in Arena 7 and occasionally Arena 8. Check it out below.

However, once you push with this deck to Arena 8 you’ll begin facing double Prince players, the princess, Ice Wizards and more and battles become more difficult. It’s still possible to win, but may need adjustments.
If you don’t have the Elixir pump it still works great, but takes more elixir saving. Swap that out for a Canon for defense, or a rage spell to get more from the Royal Giant whenever he’s on the map. We won’t breakdown all the counters with this deck, just know that it’s extremely capable. I start chipping away with goblins and minions, then wait til the 1:00 minute mark to drop my Royal and win at the end. Give it a try today.

Last Minute Tips

Following the steps and decks above will almost certainly result in a lot of winning, 1700-1800 trophies if not more, and reaching Arena 6 and 7 with a little practice. Of course there is a small learning and timing curve, patience and strategy goes a long ways, and remembering what cards an enemy has, or already used. Below are a few other helpful last minute tips or suggestions to help use these decks to your advantage to win more battles in Clash Royale.
  • Watch the clock and time attacks right at 1:05 time remaining. By the time the troop gets behind enemy lines the clock reaches 1:00 and Elixir is doubled. Perfect timing for a quick freeze spell to take out the enemy Tower or troops for an easy victory. Then play defense with the Canon and Bomb Tower.
  • Early on, always drop Spear Goblins right by the bridge for fast damage to the enemy Tower. If left alone they’ll do 300+ damage, or cause the enemy to waste arrows or a bigger card.
  • Keep an eye on enemy Tesla, Canon, or Inferno’s and use Minions to quickly remove them from your path.
  • Use Spear Goblins or Minions to force the enemy to use Arrows, then instantly drop one or the other near the bridge for quick Tower damage.
  • Never place cards behind your Tower (which everyone does) as enemies can use Fireballs or Rockets to kill your troops and damage the Tower at the same time.
  • Never use Spear Goblins or Minion Hoards by a Wizard, as they die in one shot.
  • Always spread out Goblins, Bombers, or the Knight on each side of enemies, or in general to prevent them all from getting hit by spells or arrows at once.
  • Use Lightning often on Huts, or on the Tower and high Elixir cards when they’re next to each other, which players do all the time. Or on Inferno and Tesla Towers.
  • Near the end of battles save the Freeze spell for a last minute attack, or to stop an incoming Prince or Hog from getting final second wins.
  • Don’t use the Cry emoji to taunt enemies when you win, that’s just silly.
  • If you go on a losing streak change up your deck, as the game has switched up your card rotation and you need a change of pace.
Of course there will always be different ways to win, or poor judgement and bad timing that will cause players to lose a game or two. Clash Royale is extremely fast-paced and has a lot of strategy. Don’t get discouraged if you lose 4-5 in a row, as later you’ll have a nice win streak and get right back where you started.
The big update that arrived in May added a lot of changes, but these decks are still very capable. The Canon and Bomb Tower don’t live as long so drop them at the last minute for maximum lifespan, and keep pushing to reach Arena 6-7 or more. Good luck and Clash On.

Clash Royale: 10 Tips for Beginners

This guide will go over some helpful Clash Royale tips and tricks for beginners looking to win their first few battles and more. In early March the makers of Clash of Clans released a new real-time strategy game, and it quickly jumped to the top of the download charts. If you are just now giving it a try, or are stuck at lower Arena’s frustrated by losses, read on for some helpful Clash Royale tips to get started.
Clash of Clans has been the one of the most popular and highest grossing mobile games of all times for over three years. However, Clash Royale is stealing some of the glory. Featuring many of the same troops, characters, gold, elixir and other elements, but in a top-down real-time strategy style game. It also incorporates card-collecting, which is another popular game genre.

For those who’ve just downloaded it and aren’t having much luck winning, we have some early tips and tricks for beginners that will help fight off the Prince, play good defense, take down enemy buildings, and give you a victory or two. Then read on for even more details, and suggestions for the best deck to push to Arena 6-7.

Clash Royale could be more addicting than Clash of Clans, so use caution before downloading it. It’s that good, that polished, and extremely fun. Once you get familiar with the layout, managing resources like Gold, and building a deck (or army) to go to battle with, try some of our tips below to improve your skills, strategy, and overall balance in order to win fights.
With Clash Royale you fight the enemy in real-time, and they fight back. Players need to use both offense and defense, strategy, and time everything right to get a win. The bigger and more troops you use, the longer players have to wait for Elixir to regenerate before deploying more troops. Figure out a good strategy, and stick with it. In the beginning your troops are likely outmatched, but use these tips and you’ll win a few and get better, and get more cards. Here are some tips to help beginners win battles in Clash Royale.

Spend Gold Wisely

Gold is the most important currency in Clash Royale. We don’t farm it like in Clash of Clans, and instead it’s earned by winning battles, or from daily chests that players get for free every four hours. Then the more battles you win, the more chests you can unlock. Some take three hours to unlock, some take eight, and even 12 hours. I start those before heading to bed. It’s a long wait, but worth it.
With Clash Royale we upgrade troops by getting more cards of the same character. Like the Giant, Goblins, skeletons, a baby Dragon, and many other troops many have used in Clash of Clans. And while it’s important to update them as you progress, don’t update everything. Gold needs to be spent wisely, and sparingly. Only upgrade what you plan to use, and save as much as you can for the important upgrades later. Don’t just upgrade everything because you have enough cards. You’ll want a good variety, but some troops early on just aren’t worth upgrading. For me it’s the bombers, they’re too weak.
The recent May Clash Royale update made a lot of changes, and one of them are upgrades in the Card Shop don’t cost as much, and increase with more consistency. Rather than jumping to 2,000 gold instantly. While we wouldn’t recommend buying a lot of cards from the shop, it’s worth a try if you have the cash. Personally, I spend gems to clear Chests from the row of four waiting to be unlocked. A Giant Chest being unlocked early costs 75 gems, compared to 410 in the shop. See my point?

Have Variety in Your Battle Deck

The most important thing for beginners is setting up your battle deck. There are three different decks you can assemble and have on-hand, ready to fight with. Each troop has a number of Elixir cost. Don’t have all 2-3’s, and don’t have too many 5’s. They take longer, cost more, and you’ll quickly get outmatched and overrun.

Mix up your deck with both high and low troops

Basically, mix up your deck with both high and low Elixir troops, as well as both ground and air. Giving you a wide array of options, at different times. Mixing it up with a good variety gives you the best chance to win. I’ve been using Giants, skeletons (for a distraction as the Giant deals damage) and splash damage troops like the Baby Dragon or Valkyrie Chick. The Dragon and Valk do splash damage, and hurt multiple troops and buildings with each hit. This is crucial. Valkries take on incoming Giants, while my other troops head for the enemy Towers.
Adding a good variety of high and low level troops, as well as mixed air and ground becomes increasingly more important as the game progresses too. If the enemy has ground troops, drop a Dragon in and go take down a Tower. It’s all about timing, and strategy. This is one of the best yet most simple strategy games I’ve played on a mobile device.

Use Skeleton Attacks

There are multiple different Skeleton troops, and everything but the Giant Skeleton are very weak, die quick, and are susceptible to arrow attacks. That said, Skeletons are a great distraction to deploy just before dropping a bigger “tank” troop to do heavy damage.

Try pairing Skeletons with a Giant, and watch it instantly cruise down and take out a Tower with just two moves. Skeletons are just as good on defense as they are on offense. Use them to quickly take down a Giant, or stop a full speed Price. Watch out for Valks or a Dragon, as their splash damage can take out an entire skeleton army in one or two hits. On the flipside, I always have arrows ready to follow my Prince or Giant to take out the enemies skeletons trying to stop my approach.

Test New Decks in Training Battles

This may seem silly, as losing a match doesn’t really hurt players aside from the trophy count, but test your Battle Deck before you fight in multiplayer. Players lose trophies for each battle lost, and the more trophies the better. This puts you in higher leagues or arenas, gives out better chests and more. So you’ll want to win as much as possible.
As a result do test attacks and practice with new cards and troops earned, or new varieties to your deck in the training battle arena first. Once you feel confident, fight real people, and see how it goes. Before you start, continue reading the rest of our tips for a better chance at victory.

Don’t Attack First

Early on I was always first to attack, and my troops were getting countered by the enemy, and putting me behind from the start. I lost, a lot, and getting frustrated. Not to mention being outmatched by higher level troops. Players should wait for the Elixir bar to get full before attacking, and if possible, wait for the enemy to deploy first, to help use your troops and a strategy moving forward.
This doesn’t always work, but a good defense wins championships in the NFL, and the same rule applies here. Being able to have a solid defense allows players time to fill up Elixir, and counter-attack with a strong army. It also allows you to save important cards like the Fireball for later. It should be saved for the end to deal mass damage to a group of skeletons, or to lower the Town Hall before a match ends to get that slight edge needed to win. I save them for last, and surprise the enemy just in time to win most battles.

Use Spells Often

In the early stages of Clash Royale most players don’t have spells, but within a week or so of playing you’ll likely have the Freeze spell, and then in arena 3-4 get the Rage spell. Freeze will as you expect, freeze everything. From troops playing defense taking down your troops, or save you at the last second before a match ends to prevent the enemy from taking down a tower. I’ve saved countless battles near the end by using the freeze spell.
The purple “Rage” spell increases speed, movement, and damage to deal tons of damage. Drop a Giant or Skeleton Giant, wait a few seconds, and drop the Rage. He’ll quickly get to their base, and destroy it. I’ve found that using a big troop with three quick spear goblins or a skeleton army mixed with the rage to be extremely successful. Watch out for defense, as it can easily be wasted, but just as easily win the battle.

And about that freeze spell, I use it for everything. Perfect placement (and after waiting a few seconds and being risky) paid off as you can see above. I waited longer than I should have for the enemy to drop a troop to take out my balloon, then dropped the freeze. Stopping the tower and Witch both at once, and giving my balloon time to drop some bombs and take out his tower, and give me an easy win. It’s all about thinking ahead, not just rushing to drop troops. So be methodical, take your time, and use spells as often as possible to surprise the enemy and get an advantage.

Don’t Drop Trophies

Beginners or those who keep losing a lot of battles are doing something to try and get an edge in Clash Royale. Going to battle and just sitting idle, letting the other player attack and win. The idea here is to “dump trophies” and be put in a lower arena to be matched up against easier opponents. Similar to dropping a troop and quitting an attack in Clash of Clans.
I keep seeing users mention this on forums, that they’ve been dumping trophies in an effort to lower where they battle, to have a better chance at winning. This doesn’t work. For one, Clash Royale has a pretty excellent match-making system, and for two, the higher arena you are in, the better the reward. Reach Arena 2 and 3 as quick as possible, to upgrade troops and have a better chance at winning. Higher arena chests are much better too.

I’ve just reached level 8 in Clash Royale, and have enough trophies that I’m fighting in “Arena 5-6” instead of Arena 4. The higher the arena, the better the “Chests” when you win 10 battles. In Arena 4 you’ll be rewarded with a Giant Gold Chest, and it’s loaded with cards, gold, gems, and way more upgrades than most cards. One chest gave me 101 cannon cards, and gave out enough that I could upgrade it three times, and even upgrade my rockets twice. That’s a huge upgrade and tons of money just for fighting in a higher Arena. That boost will help users win battles, rather than just fighting easier enemies.
At the end of the day don’t drop trophies just to fight in a lower arena, as it likely won’t work, and the reward isn’t as big. Yes going down to unlock cards you’re still missing makes sense, but don’t stay low just to win battles. It’s worth it to keep winning, so Clash on!

Check Out Tried and Tested Decks on YouTube

Another great idea is to head to YouTube or forums for ideas regarding the perfect deck to attack with. This is both a pro and a con. On the plus side, users have some great variety and extremely well-balanced decks that will help players push to Arena 5, and win. That said, many other players have seen these same decks in the forums or popular videos, and know exactly how to defeat them.
Meaning that be sure to try out a big variety of different decks to find what works best for you, but don’t rely on them too heavily, as you’ll quickly lose 3-4 battles in a row. I’ve also noticed Clash Royale mixes up your deck rotation after a win streak, and will quickly make it more difficult to win. When this happens don’t keep trying and hoping you’ll get cards in the order you want. Quickly go in and change things up a bit (but remember your winning formula) and play with something different. Then try your original deck later.

Another last minute tip is to tap the bottom right button, which looks like a TV. This is actually called TV Royale, which has a list of replays from the most skilled and highest players in the world. Of course many of their attacks beginners can’t do, as we don’t have the troops to mount a similar attack. That being said, it will help beginners get an idea of what works, what doesn’t, and how to be strategic rather than just stampeding forward with anything and everything.
Last but not least, Clash with Ash is a popular YouTuber who makes videos for Supercell, sharing upcoming features and updates for Clash of Clans, base designs, and even strategy guides for Clash Royale. He’s turned into a resident Clash YouTuber, and his videos are extremely helpful. Take a look at his latest Clash Royale tips for beginners below.

Once players learn to build a well-balanced deck, have a solid group of air, ground, heavy and cheap units all available, then learn to counter the enemy, you’ll quickly start winning. Always have a chest in the counter to open once it’s available, and sign in every four hours to get a free chest to earn gold and upgrade cards.
Chests are extremely important, so open them as often as possible. Try to only spend Gold when it’s really needed, and on troops you’ll actually use. Then once you reach level 3 join a clan so other players can donate cards and help you upgrade cards and troops at a faster pace. From here you’ll win more battles, unlock more cards or troops, earn more gold for upgrades and continue getting better and better.
At the end of the day it’s all about strategy. Beating players a level or two higher than you isn’t impossible, but it will take some skill, time, and practice. Don’t get discouraged after losing 4-5 in a row, because before you know it you’ll be on a winning streak and have a full bar of chests ready to be opened. Good luck, and enjoy. Clash Royale Strategy: 5 Tips to Win Battles

Supercell’s popular game Clash Royale has been available for a few months, and received lots of game-changing updates. With millions of people playing the hit title, beginners are looking for an edge. This guide will go over some early Clash Royale strategies and tips to help you win more battles.
Clash Royale is a spin-off of one of the most successful games of all times. Taking the Clash of Clans universe and injecting it into a very fast paced and competitive online card collecting real-time strategy game. It’s an instant success, and we’re here to help you win.

Clash Royale deep down is a strategy game. It’s all about outmaneuvering and outsmarting the opponent. Even those with overpowered troops or better cards can often underestimate lower players and lose to a well designed attack. I’ve been playing since it was released, and here are some helpful tips that have helped me win more battles.

The beginners link above is extremely helpful for those just starting, who don’t know what to upgrade, how to fight, or what works. Once you’ve played for a few days and understand the game and are looking for that extra edge to win more battles, you’ll need to do a few things we’ve outlined below.
Unlike Clash of Clans where players build a base or village and hope you don’t take it down, in Clash Royale the battle is in real-time, and they fight back. Countering each move with powerful troops, wizards, archers, barbarians, or tank troops like a Giant to walk past everything and take down your towers. It’s crucial to know what you’re doing, have a well-balanced deck, and be prepared to take some damage in order to deploy a good defensive attack. Yes, a pile of troops that will defend, then go on offense and take down the enemy. Lets get started.

Manage Your Battle Deck

The most important thing in Royale is setting up your battle deck. There are three different decks you can assemble and have on-hand, ready to fight with. Each troop has a number of Elixir cost. Don’t have too many Epic or rare troops, or high numbers, as they cost more elixir, and you’ll be stuck waiting while the enemy takes you down. Without a good variety and a well managed deck, players will quickly get outmatched and overrun.

Mix your troops for Defense and Offense

Mix up your deck with both high and low Elixir troops, as well as both ground and air. Giving you a wide array of options, at different times. Mixing it up with a good variety gives you the best chance to win. Below we share a few proven decks to push to Arena 6.

If the enemy has ground troops, drop a Dragon or Minion Hoard in and kill them, then go take down a Tower. It’s all about timing, and strategy. In order to win any battle players will need to well managed deck with a lot of variety. If you have too many small troops, you’ll get wiped out. Too many big troops or high in elixir cost, you won’t have enough to fight back. Managing your deck is crucial, and here’s more details to build the perfect Clash Royale deck. Playing smart and to the Elixir advantage is also an idea to keep in mind. I use low-cost 1 Elixir skeletons often, to take down an expensive Hog. Instant advantage.

Average Elixir Cost

The photo above has a very important number at the bottom, which is your “average elixir cost” with any particular battle deck. A good deck should be between 3.8-4.4. That deck is under-powered, and will likely lose to good players. Anything higher or lower doesn’t have enough power, or is too slow and overpowered to compete with a balanced attacker. Your either getting beat by splash damage and arrows, or are waiting too long to deploy all those 4,5,6 Elixir cost troops. It’s all about managing Elixir, spending it wisely, and using your deck detailed above to perfection. You don’t want to wait 10 seconds to drop two cards, right? Mix it up, and have a good variety.

Don’t Attack First

The first thing everyone needs to know is when a battle starts, is don’t rush. Wait for the Elixir bar to fill up, see what card is coming next then decide which troops to use, and fight. While some may want to rush and immediately attack the opponent, waiting to see what they deploy, then countering with better cards, is your best bet. Occasionally I can catch the enemy off guard and rush in early, but typically they’ll play defense and wipe out any first wave. As a result, I’d recommend waiting, going on defense, and taking down their troops and then attacking.
Not to mention waiting will let you know which side they’ll attack from, which allows you to drop a Barbarian Hut or structure to help defend. Which brings us to our next point.

Go on the Defense

It’s worth waiting, even if you’re getting attacked and taking heavy damage. Rather than waste two archers to slow the opponent down, wait for something better. Don’t be afraid to take a little damage, if that means being able to counter with an extremely strong attack. Even if you lose a tower, taking down the main middle “King Tower” means you instantly win. Waiting long enough to push back hard, could be exactly what you need to win, instead of lose or get a draw. No one likes to tie.

Above, watching to see what happens rather than instantly dropping a troop would be the best bet. Go on defense, take out the Witch, and then launch that big Giant to go in for the second Tower, and get the victory.
I’ve been using Giants, skeletons (for a distraction as the Giant deals damage) and splash damage troops like the Baby Dragon or Valkyrie Girl. The Dragon and Valk do splash damage, and hurt multiple troops and buildings with each hit. This is crucial. Valkries take on incoming Giants, while my other troops head for the enemy Towers.

Watch Where You Deploy Troops or Buildings

Another very crucial tip for players looking for a little help when it comes to winning battles, is to watch where you deploy troops. Be strategic. This is a strategy game, so play like its Chess. Think about what you do, your next move, how long it will take for Elixir to regenerate, and more. Drop air troops against their ground units, think about what you do, don’t just use what’s available first. Drop defense troops in the middle in front of the King Tower to distract incoming enemies away from the other towers.
Drop troops behind Towers, so by the time they get to the middle and are “engaged” your Elixir has already regenerated enough to have another card ready to play. Watching high level players, they all do this. Don’t just drop troops on the edge closest to the enemy every time, you’ll eventually get behind, and lose.

While we’re on the topic, don’t drop troops right in front of the enemy. They’ll get the first shot off, and inflict more damage first. Deploy units off to the side so the enemy has to turn. This gives you an edge, while also turning the opponent away from your Towers, which of course, is what we’re all trying to protect. Often times I’ll drop Minions in the middle and as they fly around the sides troops will chase them and slowly die, preventing my towers from taking damage. There are a lot of ways to approach things, so try them all.
In the end those who want to win battles in Clash Royale need to be balanced. From having a balanced deck, to being balanced and poised during battle. It’s a very fast-paced game, but being able to wait just long enough to deploy a powerful and well managed army will lead you to victory.
